Racial Pigmentation
Clinical features
– Brown (rarely black) pigmentation, especially of the gingiva.
Aetiology
– Racial pigmentation is seen not only in coloured patients, but also in some whites, especially those from the Mediterranean region.
Incidence
– Common: the main cause of oral pigmentation.
Diagnosis
– Differentiate from other causes of pigmentation.
